The
McDermott All American Tour Results from Billiards on Main
The twenty-third
stop on the 2007/2008 Pechauer All American Tour (produced by
the American CueSports Alliance – ACS) was hosted at Billiards
on Main in Galesburg, IL, on Saturday, December 15. The $500
added event on a snow-soaked day drew twenty-two players in
a double-elimination 8-ball format on 7-foot bar boxes. Doric
Smith (Galesburg, IL) [ranked a “4” on a regional handicap system
used] took an undefeated march to the finals. In the hot-seat
match, Smith clipped Larry Miller (Peoria, IL) [4] 4-3. Earlier
in the A-bracket semi-finals, Smith overpowered Mark Hammerl
(Galesburg, IL) [4] 4-0, while Miller clipped Randy Tenley (Galesburg,
IL) [4] 4-3. In the B-side bracket Mike Dunklin (Bloomington,
IL) [5] eliminated Brad Simpson (Galesburg, IL) [4] at 7th place
5-1, while Jamie Carlson (Galesburg, IL) [4] tied with Simpson
courtesy of a loss to Rory Smith (Galesburg, IL) [4] 4-2. In
the B-side quarterfinals Dunklin and R. Smith dispatched Mark
Hammerl and Randy Tenley into 5th place by 5-2 and 4-1 scores
respectively. In the loser’s semifinals Rory Smith ousted Mike
Dunklin 4-1, but Smith was upended in the B-side finals by Larry
Miller 4-1. Doric Smith continued where he left off in the tourney
finals, as he again cast off Larry Miller by a 4-2 margin for
the title!
By virtue of Doric
Smith being the highest-finishing ACS members in the event,
he qualified for a free 8-ball singles entry into the 2008 ACS
Nationals in Las Vegas – courtesy of the ACS. The ACS wishes

The J. Pechauer All American Tour Results from Dale's Weston
Lanes
The twenty-first
stop on the 2007/2008 Pechauer All American Tour (produced by
the American CueSports Alliance – ACS) was hosted at Dale’s
Weston Lanes in Weston, WI, on Saturday December 8. The $500
added event drew thirty-six players in a double-elimination
8-ball format on 7-foot bar boxes. Ed Osypowski (Wausau, WI)
cruised undefeated to the finals. In the hot-seat match, Osypowski
outgunned Jason Kasprzycki (Schofield, WI) 6-0. Earlier in the
A-bracket semi-finals, Osypowski overpowered Jon Kent (Wausau,
WI) 6-0, while Kasprzycki eclipsed Andy Nikolai (Merrill, WI)
6-2. In the B-side bracket Chip Kedrowicz (Custer, WI) eliminated
Lloyd Zynda (Mosinee, WI) at 7th place 6-5, while Matt Kasprzycki
(Weston, WI) tied with Zynda courtesy of a loss to Kevin Klages
(Antigo, WI) 6-2. In the B-side quarterfinals Chip Kedrowicz
and Kevin Klages dispatched Jon Kent and Andy Nikolai into 5th
place by 6-4 and 6-1 scores respectively. In the loser’s semifinals
Klages ousted Kedrowicz 6-4, but Kevin Klages was upended in
the B-side finals by Jason Kasprzycki 6-5. Ed Osypowski continued
his hot hand in the tourney finals, as he again dominated Jason
Kasprzycki by a 6-2 margin for the title!
